Lauritzen Kosan seeks Vetting Manager

Our current vetting manager has accepted a new position outside Denmark, and so we invite you to be our new colleague.

Your professional and personal qualifications
You must be a great communicator and be able to operate well in a multicultural environment. You have a customer-centric perspective alongside your technical skills.

We are looking for someone who has a structured approach to their work with a proactive and analytical mindset towards meeting our company objectives of incident-free operation and zero customer rejections.

Proficiency in English is essential as it is our working language.

You are preferably already working in a similar position with deep knowledge of the oil majors. You have a background of master mariner and have served as a senior officer at sea or hold a marine engineering degree.

Your new job
As vetting manager with Lauritzen Kosan you will report to Head of People and Quality. You will undertake a central role working closely with oil majors, shipboard management as well as your colleagues ashore.

Achieving an increase in the company's overall vetting performance in crew motivation and in awareness of customer requirements is the key to success in this role.

Your assignments include:

  • Arranging and following up on SIRE, CDI and terminal vetting inspections
  • Maintenance and distribution of relevant vetting questionnaires and databases
  • Contacting customers regarding vetting, technical documentation and incident reporting
  • Monitoring industry best practice and customer requirements and finding ways to implement these for all vessels in management
  • Liaising and meeting with relevant oil major/customers at regular intervals
  • Initiating pre-vetting inspections in cooperation with other departments in Lauritzen Kosan
  • Experience transfer
  • Learning from incidents
  • Advising to relevant departments on vetting related issues
  • Maintaining relevant procedures, instructions, forms and checklists
  • Preparing budgets related to vetting

Travel activity of some 30 days per year is part of the job, so flexibility is also important to become successful in the role.

Lauritzen Kosan has technical management of close to 30 LPG carriers counting pressurized, semi refrigerated and ethylene carriers.
